  1. I think this post is one of my favorites - simple, but lots of things to think about...

  2. This post made it possible to get some interest from my friends and co-workers on data visualisation, tnx (finally!)

I was able to use the code and create one for the company I work for. Thanks!

  5. i'm going to have to vote for this:

visualizations are great and, truly, i loved the visualization of the Obama stimulus plan but, really, the greatest failing of information design in present day is pairing sensible information with action someone can take. i've often wondered where, statistically, i'd be better off sitting on an airplane and now i know. if i die for sitting near the front i have only myself to blame now :)

  6. Since just about every post is great, this one has made the biggest impact on my life with data: http://flowingdata.com/2008/09/18/flowingdata-welcomes-tableau-software/

I can not thank you enough for your blog and all the resources you present.

  7. I had the question before the answer, so this was awesome to see:

funny how events in history continue to have results beyond lifespan!

  8. Hands down the "Hacking the Coffee Maker" post is my favorite. Mostly just because I know if I somehow managed to implement something like that in our office...let's just say it would be a real "wake up" call to some co-workers (bad pun, sorry, couldn't resist).
