  1. im a software developer and would like to learn more about visualization concepts. im especially interested in algorithms, data handling and programmatic concepts for visualization of complex hierarchical and network data.
im working on a project which involves automatic creation graphs and maps for this kind of information. another goal is to create an intuitive way to interact/navigate and manipulate the data structure.
i have background with actionscript 3, java and c++/c# and general data handling.
i would be very grateful if somebody could give me some tips or point out some books, frameworks or other references - thanks!

  2. i think a good place to start might be jeffrey heer's work, and then branch out from there?
