The Post-Doctoral researcher will undertake combined technical and design research focused on information visualization with the goal of developing new techniques and facilitating discoveries. Working with large-scale data sets technical research will involve the invention of data mining algorithms; display tools and protocols accompanied by innovative information visualizations and related design techniques. They will participate as part of an integrated interdisciplinary team, working closely with a set of industrial and institutional partners as well as the supervising researcher (Diamond). While producing visualizations the researcher will consider issues of interface design, aesthetics and the relationship between data, design process and users.
