    Find more details here.

  2. Hi,
I am Shailen. I am a business intelligence enthusiast and I work in the same arena. this pulls me towards data visualization.
I love reading comics and magazines. I like traveling and watching movies too.

  3. Hi,

I'm a Marketing Specialist and just stumbled upon Flowing Data in the last few weeks, but have excited by what I've seen and the potential for use in my organization. I'm into books, comics, movies, video games, and spending time with my two children.

  4. Hi, I'm Stephen - friends call me Monty - and I'm a communications consultant who has occasionally been called upon to visualize data; even though I've never been a numbers person, I have a healthy obsession with beautifully, economically designed expressions of complex data. I aspire to create some of my own some day.

The poster would go in my bedroom; the wordplay would be a great way to kick-start the brain in the morning...

  5. I'm meg, I'm an English professor, and dude, this is SO going up on the wall in my office if I win. Not because I'm an Af-Am specialist (I wish), but because I end up teaching a lot of typography and data-viz stuff in my book history class.

  6. Hi, I'm Lawrie. I'm interested in Flash, Actionscript, animation, music, data visualisation and food. My favourite food is "roast", my favourite drink is coffee (black), my favourite animal is RED PANDA and my favourite number is 12.
If I won this poster, I'd probably put it on my work's mood wall, where it would look awesome.

  7. Hi, I'm kevin. I'm a business analyst (although not in the ERP/IT sense) working in the aviation industry, and issues around the visual display of quant information are relatively new to me but offer a wonderful intersection between my quant and non-quant brain. fave drink coffee, fave foods way too numerous to name but I exist on a lot of NY pizza, fave animal of course the wonderful sea otter. If I win the poster I'll frame it and put in my living room.

  8. I'm Kenny, I'm the Executive Director of the Kansas Democratic Party. If I win this I would probably give it to one of our great activists in the state who worked their asses off in a red state to elect Barack Obama. I'm interested in politics, data visualization, GIS, maps, actionscript, flex, soccer, traveling books etc. Color=green, Food=Z-Man from OK Joes, Drink=Darjeeling Tea, Animal=My new dog Birdie, Number=47. THANKS!

  9. I'm Brian. I work as a management consultant, and spend a lot of time turning data into something useful; visualization sure helps.

I like the number 22, the color green, burritos, calzones, pizza, and ravioli, Alsatian Gewürztraminer, trail running and road biking.

This poster will either go in my office or in our (high traffic, due to many kids and their friends) finished basement, next to our Constitution Preamble poster.

  10. I'm Brent. I'm a Flash/Flex Developer interested in building physical interactive devices. Love to make things with Arduino's. Currently building projects interfacing GPS devices with VOC sensors and mapping the results.

  11. I'm a network administrator with a love for information design--and good music, engaging books, and lively discussions.

I'd hang this poster in my living room, because great design is both thought-provoking and a conversation starter.

  12. Hey there,

I'm Paul, I live in New York, and I'm very much interested in the way we acquire and process information and data. Having both a mathematical and visual background, I think neat ways of displaying both are special.

I am also very partial to the colour grey and the letter Z.

  13. i'm michael, an architect living in los angeles. besides for architecture, which is a required passion for anyone who attempts to practice it, i have an affinity for music, film, type design and photography. i'd hang the poster up in my shared rental house, a handsome 1920s craftsman home in south l.a.

  14. Hello, I'm Tom. I write software for a company that makes nuclear safety equipment. I've been trying to learn more about graphical design and presentation of information.

My favorite food is breakfast (oatmeal, pancakes, hashbrowns, sausage, etc.)

I'll probably put the poster in my office to inspire creative presentation of information, but I can't be sure I won't put it on ebay. Honesty is the best policy I say!

I agree Good Night, and Good Luck. was a pretty good movie, though its difficult to look at the beginning of a slippery slope of journalistic bias in too much of a positive light, regardless of its positive impact at the time.

  15. Hi, My name is Anna Grahn I am a GIS Specialist for Transport Canada in New Westminster, British Columbia. I am currently developing a user interface for rail line information. This is my first job fresh out of university, I am super excited. My fav food is sushi, raw tuna specificially. My favourite drink is papaya juice in Hawaii, yum so tasty. My favourite/lucky number is 13, just because everyone hates on it.
I would place the poster in my brand new office, I am moving in Feb 23rd to celebrate my new beginning and also as a conversation piece when co-workers come to visit me!

  16. Good morning. I'm Robin, a Biostatistics doctoral student at UCLA, who's not quite sure what exactly she's doing afterward. My current interests lie in my veggie garden, my new motorcycle, finding an adequate yet interesting dissertation topic and surviving the comprehensive exams in a few months. Similarly to mmacdonald, I'd hang the poster out in the living room of the house that I'm renting with a couple other folk. Which isn't quite as old, and not quite as south :)

  17. Hello, I'm Jaren.

I am a college student just south of Seattle, studying for a career in journalism.

I enjoy any artistic medium I can get my hands on - music, literature, video games, comics, static art, anything.

If I got this it'd be safely tucked away for about 3-4 months before I move on-campus at the UW, at which point it would be put in a minimal frame on my wall. Preferably somewhere within the line of sight of my desk.

  18. Hi, I'm brian. I am a student at McGill University, my major is Economics and Finance. I listen to a lot of music, I am a frequent concert-goer, I also like to read--currently I'm reading The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky. Um, my favorite food is probably Indian, though I prefer anything ethnic. If I won, I would hang the posted in the living room of my apartment.

  19. Hello, I'm Jeff. I'm a nonprofit technology consultant and father of two in Pittsburgh. I get to be a data geek for a living and try to get others into data geekdom. I consider myself a superfan of the Scottish band The Proclaimers, and I bake a lot of bread - bagels, rolls, focaccia, English muffins. When I can, I cycle, play basketball and play tennis. If I win the poster, I'll hang it in my sons' bedroom. My 6=year-old recently described George Washington as "our fist white president". He and my 2-year-old are huge Obama fans.

  20. Hello. I'm Jeff.

My background is in commercial software development and, more recently, managing application development. My career has primarily been in the energy industry, with a focus on building software to visualize large datasets (prices, energy demand, capacity, etc). We do that with traditional charts, advanced visualization capability, and mapping/GIS tools.

Favorite color is blue, food is my wife's spinach lasagna, drink is water with lemon, animal is umm... chimpanzee?

This poster would go into a frame and then up in my office. Oh, and if you're a .NET developer with an interest in visualizing data, we're hiring - http://www.ventyx.com
