I'd like to say something like "biked 45min" or "practiced clarinet 1hr," but I don't see a time span data type.

How do I represent time spans?

hey james, yfd doesn't quite support that syntax right now, but here are two alternatives:
1. practiced 1 hour #clarinet
2. biked 45 minutesso you have your action first (praticed or biked), followed by a value (1 or 45), and ending with a unit (hour or minute). In the first you could also use the # tag.
The other option is to use start and stop tweets. For example, start_practice and stop_practice. Then you could take a gander at the experimental durations viz:

Hope that helps.

If it's any use to James, I use yfd to track time spans for things I read and games I play. I do it by saying, for example
read 60 [book name]with the number standing for the number of minutes. Then it can be tracked using the time series, or tree chart, or whatever, and it doesn't matter that the fact that the units are minutes isn't specified.

I would love to be able to use that 'durations' visualization in a custom page. Is that currently possible? If not, will it be?

When I feel the durations view is ready to get out of the experimental section, yeah, I'll make it available in the custom page.
