Let's get a list started. I only really know of a few who do freelance data visualization. Leave your name, website, and attach a sample of your work.

I'm a CS grad student at the University of Maryland, focusing on information visualization. Despite being a student, I find myself with a good deal of free time on my hands, and lately I've been consulting to fill the time. Flex development is my specialty, but it's always nice when I can blend info viz into what I do as well.

Until I put together a proper portfolio page, the blog entries will have to suffice as samples. Here are two little apps I put together based on some of the data I found on FlowingData.

I'm a freelance communications consultant; while I don't come with a hefty amount of number crunching skills, I have a knack for helping distill data into more comprehensible bits (wether it's numbers, text, images, concepts, etc.).

sample is not a "finished" piece for a client, but rather a piece created during a job interview (yes, it was a writing challenge; I was given five pages of data - raw tables - and asked to decide what was significant and to communicate/describe this data to an audience of my choosing; I chose to create this "info graphic" with a broad undergrad campus audience in mind...)

I'm a freelancer in hardware and software, but recently I've been doing more visualization work (including a guest blog post here a while back about visualization for debugging). I like data diving, and public installations of interactive pieces.

I'm a freelancer with 15 years' experience in visualization, machine learning, and text mining. My training is in cognitive science and computational biology, and I've worked on projects ranging from drug design to executive board assessment and market research.
Attached is a simple (modified) figure: a client wanted to identify and represent differences in the ways that physician specialties perceive diseases. The plot summarizes opinions automatically extracted from 40 interview transcripts, feature selected, and then scaled using 1D correspondence analysis.
I can be reached at data|pug a|t gma|il d|ot co|m (without the pipes).

I am a Ph.D. in geography/environmental science, and I do some cartography/mapmaking work on the side. I'll be happy to provide samples as requested. I am in the process of setting up a new website on a new server, so for the foreseeable future, I'd recommend using this address: spencer [dot] fleury [at] gmail [dot] com.

I'm a production artist, not a designer, but I excel at producing charts and graphs, especially in large numbers. I've done a ton of statistical graphic work for the World Bank, the UN, the IMF, and various other organizations. I'm always looking for freelance work!
A good example of the type of work I'm best at is the World Development Indicators, the annual World Bank publication that serves as a compendium of development statistics for international organizations. I have done the layout of this book and many of its supporting publications single-handed since the 2003 editions. PDFs of the latest edition are available at http://preview.tinyurl.com/4rcrbv
I can be reached at http://www.kostia.net personally, and my company is at http://www.cdinet.com.
