Best program to display a "live" graph in SharePoint?

  1. 1. BLUF: Please let me know of a program I could use to create a live graph in SharePoint to solve a “visual control” problem.

    2. PROBLEM: Our company cannot see all the vacancies and eligible candidates in one place. Furthermore, the transaction times for filling vacancies are hidden.
This results in unfilled vacancies, frustrated applicants, poor line balancing of processors, and general waste.

    3. POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Create a graph that looks like a synapse, showing the flow between vacancies and candidates. Post the graph on the company SharePoint site. Make it “live”. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Synapse_Illustration2_tweaked.svg

    4. ASSUMPTIONS: I will be able to gather all the data into a “common” format. The graph will not need to be “clickable” for more information or drill down capability. It will be a single, read-only page.

    5. REALITY CHECK: I’m just a low level manager in a large coperation without special IT privileges or skills. While I can request IT assistance, the more help I need (coding, special programs, etc), the lower the chances of success.
While I would love the graphic to show size (or color or thickness) in relation to a metric, a simple number is good enough for now. (Same for trend data or a “project into the future” dial).

    6. FUTURE APPLICABILTY: This graph could be used to display the supply / demand flow and stockpiles for any electronic transaction. It would answer, at a glance,: 1)"What am I offering?", 2) "What are they asking for?", and 3) "How long does it take for them to get it?". The exposed waste would motivate change.

    Thanks for your time! Mark
