Hey all,

I just recently went to speak at the Hacks/Hackers Ottawa meetup and while there met a student who's really made a go of doing data-viz and infographics for a living. Amanda Shendruk only launched her business, Aesthetic Intelligence, over the summer, but considering she's self-taught, I was really impressed by a) the quality of her work, and b) her commitment and drive to doing good visual storytelling.

Wanted to pass on her story, since she kind of proves just what you can accomplish learning dataviz/infographics if you just commit the time/effort :) Was really good motivation for me, in any case:

I'd really appreciate comments on this graphic/movie. Does it work? How can it be improved? The idea is to give viewers a sense of scale they can relate to - a genuine feel for the numbers.

I don't seem to be able to embed the video in this post, but it's here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkS0-AukOBo
